Over 800,000 visitors are expected in Belfast during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann from Sunday 2 to Sunday 9 August.
If you’re in Belfast during the Fleadh, you will need to:
- plan ahead
- allow extra time for your journey
- avoid driving into the city centre as there will be road closures in place
- use public transport, walk or cycle when possible
- use dedicated park and ride facilities, if travelling to Belfast from outside the city.
Many roads will be closed to provide a pedestrian zone (as shown below in yellow/grey) during the event from 0600 Sunday 2 August to 1000 Monday 10 August 2026.
Due to the road closures, diversions and pedestrianisation in place, there is likely to be knock-on impacts across all available through routes as a result of these closures.
Furthermore, closures will impact on some Translink and Ulsterbus services – latest info on revised stopping and routing arrangements can be found on the Translink website.
